Why ApoB
LDL is not enough. ApoB tells the real story.
What is ApoB?
Apolipoprotein B is a protein found on every atherogenic particle — LDL, VLDL, and IDL. It directly counts how many cardiovascular-risk particles are circulating in your blood.
Why does LDL miss people?
Calculated LDL measures cholesterol mass, not particle count. A person with small, dense LDL particles can have a "normal" LDL-C but an elevated particle number — and significantly elevated cardiovascular risk. ApoB catches what LDL misses.
Clinical targets
The European Society of Cardiology and ACC/AHA now include ApoB in lipid management guidelines. Optimal is below 80 mg/dL; very high risk patients should target below 65 mg/dL. ElinPulse shows you exactly where you stand.
